Lookout Pharmacy is a locally owned and operated pharmacy & compounding lab with personalized service located in beautiful Beaufort, North Carolina on North Carolina's Crystal Coast. We offer a variety of services and accept all major insurance plans. Our friendly and experienced staff will treat you like family, and we pride ourselves in short wait times, quality products, and customized solutions based on your needs. We are licensed to service the patients of North Carolina and Virginia, offering FREE local delivery and FREE USPS shipping. Our mission is to be the pharmacy of choice by acting as a solutions center for both patients and providers delivering positive healthcare outcomes.

Dr. Thomas Phinizy, PharmD, RPh

  • Pharmacist-in-Charge/Co-Owner
  • Thomas was born and raised in Greenville, North Carolina. Having called North Carolina's Crystal Coast his "second home" since childhood, Thomas moved to Morehead City full-time following pharmacy school. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology with Honors from East Carolina University and his Doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD) with Distinction from the University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy. Thomas has 8 years of pharmacy experience and has completed advanced training in non-sterile compounding and pain management. In addition to managing day-to-day pharmacy operations, he also oversees regulatory, marketing, and business development activities. In his free time, Thomas enjoys both inshore and offshore fishing as well as spending time with family, friends, and his Golden Retriever, Berkley.
Pharmacist

Deborah Westbrook, RPh

  • Pharmacist (PRN)
  • Deborah is originally from Greenville, North Carolina but moved to Morehead City in 2022 to enjoy all that coastal NC has to offer. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and went on to complete an MS and pharmacy residency specializing in pediatrics. She spent the majority of her career working as a pediatric clinical pharmacist at ECU Health (formerly Vidant Medical Center) in Greenville before retiring in 2022. Debbie is now enjoying her time being "semi-retired," working as needed and volunteering regularly at the Broad Street Clinic-a nonprofit, free health clinic serving Carteret County residents with a mission to provide access to medical care for the uninsured low-income population in our community.
Pharmacist

Richard Stephens, RPh

  • Pharmacist (PRN)
  • Richard is originally from Garner, North Carolina. He spent the majority of his career in the Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina area, working for Kerr Drugs for 30 years before relocating to Carteret County. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was a member of the Kappa Psi pharmaceutical fraternity. Richard is passionate about community pharmacy and truly values the long-lasting relationships he has developed with patients over the course of his career. He and his wife, Liv, enjoy spending time with their two daughters and two grandchildren.
Patient Care Coordinator

Olivia Buck, CPhT

  • Patient Care Coordinator/Billing Specialist
  • Olivia grew up in the Carteret County community of Newport, North Carolina and could never imagine calling anywhere else home. She is a graduate of Carteret Community College, has 13 years of pharmacy experience, and possesses a wealth of knowledge in insurance billing, prior authorizations, and regulatory compliance. Her favorite part of working in pharmacy is the opportunity to form meaningful, long-lasting relationships with patients. In her free time, Olivia enjoys reading and spending time with her husband, Alan, her daughter, Kayler, and her dogs, Hattie and Jeb.
Lead Pharmacy Technician

Dana Rudow, CPhT

  • Lead Pharmacy Technician
  • Dana is originally from Pennsylvania, but has called the North Carolina Coast home for the past 18 years. She is known as a “jack-of-all trades" in the pharmacy and possesses 9 years of community and compounding pharmacy experience. In addition to leading our technicians, Dana is a specialist in designing and implementing effective workflow methods and SOPs. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Russell, and her two sons, Nick and Nathan.
Pharmacy Technician

Tasma Norris, CPhT

  • Pharmacy Technician
  • Tasma is a Carteret County native, born and raised in Morehead City, North Carolina where she still resides. She is a graduate of East Carolina University and has 13 years of pharmacy experience in the community and compounding pharmacy settings. Tasma has completed advanced training in non-sterile compounding and currently serves as our primary compounding technician and lab manager. In her free time, Tasma enjoys spending time with her husband, Craig, her son, Colton, and her two dogs, Bella and Maggi.
Cary Schulz

Cary Schulz, RPhT

  • Pharmacy Technician
  • Born into a military family, Cary has lived in many places throughout the world but has always considered Carteret County, North Carolina to be home. She is our newest team member and brings with her 3 years of community pharmacy experience along with a passion for quality patient care. Cary is working towards her PTCB certification and loves helping people take control of their health. In her free time, Cary enjoys traveling and spending time with her three kids, John Michael, CoCo, and Charlee.
Cindy Yoder CPhT

Cindy Yoder, CPhT

  • Pharmacy Technician (Part-Time)
  • Cindy is originally from Connecticut, lived in Vermont, but has called Carteret County, North Carolina home for the past 30 years. She is an expert in non-sterile compounding, having completed advanced training and sporting over 25 years of direct experience. Cindy's most favorite compounded formulation is promethazine transdermal gel because of the excellent results it provides patients and the fact that it is great for children (much easier and more agreeable than pills or suppositories)! In her free time, Cindy and her husband, Norm, enjoy camping and spending time with their children and grandchildren.
Delivery Driver

Donnie Cannon

  • Delivery Driver
  • Donnie was raised in South River, North Carolina, a small, waterfront community approximately 20 miles outside of Beaufort. He is a Coast Guard veteran and worked as an installer and repairman for CenturyLink Communications for over 30 years. He has been in the pharmacy business delivering medications to patients with compassionate and friendly service for over 10 years. Donnie loves the relationships that he has built with customers over the years and is happy to continue to serve Carteret County and surrounding areas for years to come.
